Sheri M. Morris has more than 28 years experience representing public agencies, public employees and public officials in federal and state courts, in administrative hearings and before the Louisiana Legislature. Since returning to private practice in 2000, Ms. Morris has defended general liability cases and employment matters before administrative agencies and in state and federal courts for private and governmental entities. Ms. Morris served as City Attorney for the City of Central (population 26,000) from May 2006 – June 2016 where she advised the mayor and city council on enforcement, procurement, and risk management issues. Additionally, Ms. Morris has represented school boards in litigation involving construction, employment, and general liability matters. Having been appointed to represent numerous state agencies, public officials and public employees covered by the Louisiana Office of Risk Management, the Louisiana Public Risk Management Association and the Louisiana Clerks of Court Risk Management Agency, Ms. Morris has extensive experience in defending covered claims and coordinating with representatives of self-funded risk pools. Ms. Morris is an active member of the Louisiana and Baton Rouge Bar Associations and of the Louisiana Bar Foundation.
